March 2022 Athlete of the Month

Danny Shalgian

“Winners embrace hard work. They love the discipline of it, the trade-off they are making to win. Losers, on the other hand, see it as punishment. And that’s the difference.” Lou Holtz

Hard work and discipline are a combination of success for any young athlete. You combine that with an excellent work ethic in the classroom and you have Danny Shalgian, our March Athlete of the Month. Danny has been a member of the Bandits Program since he was 10 and this award for him is well overdue. Congratulations Danny.

As Danny’s teacher at South Middle School, I have seen firsthand how hard Danny works in the classroom. He is engaged, a leader amongst his peers, and is always thinking on a higher level. Danny matches that work on the diamond as well where his coach, Joe Hock, has witnessed his excellence. Coach Hock stated,

Danny Shalgian is the epitome of hard work and discipline. Danny is as unassuming as can be but has a fire and passion for baseball that is unmatched. He works tirelessly everyday to be the best player he can be. His work ethic has become his best trait and has led him to where he is today as a leader within the Braintree Bandits 13u level. He is not only a great player on the field but off it he has worked extremely hard in the classroom as well. I am lucky to be able to coach someone like him and I’m happy to see that his hard work is really starting to show itself on the mound and at the plate as we begin the 2022 season. Danny has an extremely bright future and I am excited to see where he takes it. Congratulations Danny, well deserved.

Danny has worked hard for many years and now on the big diamond his leadership, discipline, and work ethic has really shown. His teammates look up to him and his work ethic has led to some early success for the 13 year old team. It is a good sign for what will come for Danny and his teammates. Keep up the great work Danny, we are very proud of you and expect great things in the classroom and on the diamond.
